Fully Automated Fire Assay Analysis for LAPLAB (Laponia Laboratories AB) in Lycksele Sweden IMP Group, the global leader in design and supply of automated laboratories to the mining industry, has installed a FIFA (Fast In Line Fire Assay System) system for LAPLAB in Lycksele. This world class facility, designed and supplied by IMP, will allow LAPLAB to supply an analytical service to the Gold mines in the region. This Fast In Line Fire Assay capability is a world first in the Northern hemisphere – and IMP is proud to be part of this success story. Manufacture of the LAPLAB system was completed and thoroughly tested at the Herzog factory in mid November 2008. It was road delivered to Lycksele before Christmas 2008 and installation started early in 2009. First samples were being processed 2 months later. Practical completion was reached by end April 2009 and the laboratory is now in production. ISO accreditation of the method is in progress.
